This is my list of 10 Android Apps that every android user must have. It contains apps from various categories. Again these are the apps which I think are important. You might have a different opinion. Do comment if you think any other app should be there in the must have app list.
Tasker is easily the best android app out there on planet earth. Don't know about tasker?? Well you need to, cause with Tasker the possibilities are endless. It is basically an automation tool that lets you do things automatically with preset conditions. For example, you are home and you want to connect to home wifi network, turn all sounds to full, turn mobile data off, turn lock screen off, tasker can do that automatically without unlocking your phone or clicking anything. Cool?? This is just one example, you can do millions of automated tasks with tasker. When you first start the app, it looks like one of those ordinary apps with simple UI, and I have to admit, that on first use it is very difficult to understand on how to use tasker. How to use Tasker is beyond the scope of this post.
2. ES File Explorer File Manager
Of all the file manager tools out there, ES File Manager is the best, it gives you all the basic options and it goes beyond, with root access it acts as root explorer. It has built in zip/rar manager. It has its built in music and video player, downloader. It also has gesture control feature. In short, it is the best android file manager application and a must have if you are an android user. One under rated feature is LAN access to share files via LAN with PC's etc.
3. MX Player
MX Player is again a must have app for all the video lovers. It just plays everything you throw at it. Well! Samsung users would argue that their built in video player plays everything but then again MX player gives you tons of extra options. Disappointed with built in speaker volume. Switch to software mode and enjoy lound volumes.
4. OfficeSuite 7 + PDF to Word / OfficeSuite Pro 7
Office Suite 7 is your one stop solution to office documents. It comes in two versions. With free version you can view word documents. It supports DOC, DOCX, DOCM, , XLS, XLSX, XLSM, PPT, PPTX, PPS, PPSX, PPTM, PPSM and also there is support for common formats as PDF, RTF, TXT, LOG, CSV, EML, ZIP. Now with Pro app you can also convert various document types and edit in full featured editor. If you work with Office documents on the go, this is a must have app.
Greenify is a very simple but effective app. It features in two of my other posts namely, 10 Ways to Improve your Battery Performance and Root an Android Phone. WHY?? It simply kills apps running in the background to save ram and battery. It works! This app requires root access for some advanced features but does work on a non-rooted phone. Just use it once and you will use it always.
6. SwiftKey Keyboard + Emoji
Android provides users the option to use 3rd party keyboards and there are quite a few out there, but I like Swiftkey Keyboard the most, and now it is free. It is just way better than your stock keyboard. It adapts to the way you type and makes typing whole lot easier. Plus it provides a long list of language options and themes to choose from. You will like it. Almost any option possible on an android keyboard is in there.
7. ezPDF Reader - Multimedia PDF
Adobe Reader is most widely used PDF viewer and rightly so, it gets the job done for most average users, but if you want something extra from your PDF reader, then this is where ezPDF Reader comes in. It lets you highlight data, take notes, features various viewing modes and lots of other features.
8. Nova Launcher
Android lets you customize your android phone fully. Nova launcher is a custom launcher, which provides tons of customization options without compromising on performance. It is just smooth. With latest update it adds some of the Android L features which are worth looking at. Again it comes as free app and Nova Launcher Prime with some extra features. Most android users are already aware of Nova Launcher.9. SuperBeam | WIFI Direct Share
Coming onto this nifty little app. Most android phones nowadays feature WIFI-Direct. Wifi Direct allow you to send files at very fast speeds. Superbeam is a simple app which simplifies the use of WIFI-Direct feature. Even if your smartphone does not have WIFI-Direct feature it still works using Wifi Hotspot feature or by using a common hotspot. Imagine sending a 700mb file in 2-3 mins. Yes it is easy with this app of course. Again a must have.
Ever wanted a portable scanner to scan documents on the go. Liked a newspaper clipping and wanted to share. No worries, CamScanner is just the app for you. Just take a picture and let it do the rest. You can then save your scanned document as PDF, send it via email or simple run Optical Character Recognition on it. It is just a very cool app and you would love it.
